Jon has over 18 years experience in the global commodity trading sector, working for Trafigura, one of the world’s leading independent commodity trading and logistics houses. He held senior technology roles as Head of Front Office & Risk systems and Head of IT Infrastructure before moving into structured derivatives trading. He made markets in CSOs and variance swaps, and traded physical optionality structures. Combining deep commodities knowledge and expert technology skills, Jon brings a practical and intuitive understanding of the skill sets necessary to create innovative, globally focused, responsive systems.

Paul has extensive experience as a corporate / M&A lawyer gained at firms ranging from local to global. He has held many leadership roles throughout his career including setting up and leading the Birmingham office of Andersen Legal and subsequently all offices outside London. He was also managing partner of Pinsent Masons in Birmingham and office head for Faegre Baker Daniels in London. An experienced Board member and chairman, Paul promotes the highest standards of integrity and corporate governance throughout the Board and the company.

Jo has had a 24 year technology career in senior roles across a variety of industries, with 13 years in commodity trading. As Head of Front Office Systems at Trafigura, she was responsible for strategy definition, development and evolution of the Front and Middle Office applications estate. In recent years Jo has advised a number of leading companies such as Lloyds Banking Group on product management, IT strategy and organisational transformation. Jo is passionate about customer satisfaction and loves working with a team to build great products.

David has spent the majority of his 20 year career as a technologist in the commodities sector. After receiving his computer science degree from Trinity College Dublin, where he specialised in distributed systems, David founded a software company supplying the computer games industry. The company, Demonware, grew rapidly and was acquired by the world’s largest games publisher. Later at EDF Trading, David played a key role in driving the evolution of the exotic derivatives platform. In 2009 David joined Trafigura to build a new team and develop a real time commodities risk management system. David brings broad technical expertise and a passion for finding innovative technical solutions to real world problems.

Alex has spent most of his 30 year career in the commodities sector, most recently as Head of Risk Systems at Trafigura. He has designed models for many types of exotic options, and led teams developing real-time trading applications across various commodities using the latest technologies. Prior to this Alex was a fixed income derivatives trader, specialising in arbitraging various market inefficiencies. Alex has a PhD in Commutative Algebra from the University of Exeter.

Ed has over 25 years experience as a software developer with a particular expertise in user interface design and development. His role at Trafigura as Front Office Systems Lead Developer encompassed developing and integrating the company’s oil trading systems. Prior to Trafigura, Ed was Director of Technology at the angel investment group Tinshed, with responsibility for all intranet and internet web applications, and Senior Web Applications Developer at Intel Corporation in the Internet Marketing then eCommerce departments.

Justin is a dual British-French national with an MMATH from the University of Sussex. He has worked for over 20 years in the energy & commodities industry, in a variety of roles as consultant and in sales. He helped establish and ran the EMEA FFA sales desk at Macquarie Bank, and built up the new metals CTRM business at Aspect (now part of ION Commodities). He has also worked as a statistician at the International Energy Agency, and consulted at PFC Energy (now part of S&P Global Commodity Insights) and Baringa Partners.
